Let's cut through the BS.

Death penalty proponents don't care about whether or not it is a deterrent, the costs, etc. It is all about revenge and Old Testament ideals.

I think the mistake most pro-death penalty people make is trying to pretend that the death penalty is supportable under any grounds (like deterrence) other than good old revenge.
