Bill, great thread idea. Due to the unreliability of online reviews of products, care has to be taken on Amazon too when reading them. Caveat Emptor, right? However, Amazon does offer a feature that helps out a lot - Answered Questions. An interested buyer can get answers to questions he might have about a product from those who already own it. Amazon sends out an email to all owners with the question. Normally, a question gets answered quickly and shows up in your email. I have used the feature a few times, both for getting answers for myself as well as helping out someone else.
