Nokia Makes the Call to Buy Back Shares
By Aaron Westrate
Tuesday August 1, 7:00 am Eastern Time Morningstar.com

Nokia, the world's top cellular-phone maker, said it would start repurchasing its shares after its stock plummeted following a warning that weaker margins would trim its third-quarter earnings.

According to the company, the repurchased shares may finance acquisitions or be canceled. The buyback plan allows Nokia to repurchase just less than 1% of its outstanding shares.
