Another Note: We all know that special interests have impacted our government from its inception and will continue. The point Jefferson was making is that it is government's duty to minimize these impacts (our present government maximizes their impact), even if special interests are the majority of decisions made. In our present society, it is considered socially acceptable and even honorary to further special interests. How can a free society remain free with such inequity, the answer is it can not. We are presently all slaves to special moneyed interests. Green Oasis, IMHO, is a casualty of moneyed interests and their impact on government.
