Hey all, stopping by to say hi and wish those old timers who still take a peak on rare occasions good thoughts. I'm still trading, mostly scalping and a lot of long term stuff, doing ok, but I take profits way to fast. bad habit in this market. I have been amazed by the post Trump rally, because of tax cuts makes sense, but I worry about Trumps self-destructive actions taking us all down with him. That belief has caused me to not make the gains I should have. As I type market hitting new all time highs, and the charts are so parabolic it's scary. Not a bubble like the internet days, but still the charts look somewhat the same.
Today I looked at the old Raging Bull site. I thought some of the roots of this board lay there, the CMGI or CMGIOT boards where Dr Bob splintered off from those boards? The site has no message boards anymore, at peak had about a 1/2 million registered users. Still kinda of amazed at that era and it's demise. We all lived through some really interesting market times.
I also had some thoughts about the Raging Bull chat boards demise. For some reason I wanted all the posts to stay there forever and actually wondered are they stored somewhere or do they not exist in any form except our own memories? Not exactly sure why I feel this way, some sort of nostalgia and thinking back then people poured their hearts and souls with some occasional good analysis and hard work into their posts and it should be preserved, not that anyone is ever going to look at them. My sentiments about this board if it ever disappears from the ether. The personal post here I will never forget was when I was about to leave for the hospital for the birth of my first child at about 3 AM and I just had to leave a post here. He will be 16 this summer.
I do still actively post on Stocktwits these days.
