News Release: Collaboration agreement with Astra Hassle Nortran Pharmaceuticals Inc NRT Shares issued 27,451,299 Nov 17 close $1.17 Tue 17 Nov 98 News Release Mr. Robert Rieder reports The company has entered into an agreement with Astra Hassle, AB of Goteberg, Sweden, to conduct collaborative research pertaining to antiarrhythmic compounds developed by both companies. Nortran and Astra will collaborate to test antiarrhythmic compounds developed by both companies. The studies will encompass tests in Nortran's specialized models as well as testing in Astra's laboratories. Astra will be financing most of these studies. Astra AB is an international company that trades on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, the London Stock Exchange, and the New York Stock Exchange. In 1997, Astra had 22,206 employees worldwide, and worldwide sales in excess of $5-billion (U.S.). Astra has established a market position in the area of gastrointestinal and cardiovascular agents, local anaesthetics and anti-asthmatics.
