My first thought when I heard of the Chicago nightclub incident was that the people went into a panic and stampeded because they believed a terrorist attack was upon them. Certainly this is understandable given the panic (got your duct tape everyone?) the Bush Administration has implanted into the consciousness of the American people.

I just viewed a news report on CNN where the above was mentioned as to why people broke for the doors, but could only find one way out. For some, there was no way out. Very sad indeed!

Those poor folks at that club may well be the first terrorist victims since 9/11, except their deaths weren't the result of the terrorists; rather the fear of the terrorist. Pananoia strikes deep. It hurts!
