No, thank God! By the time that trip was over I had gradually lost patience and they suddenly became afraid of me. It was funny. At least in retrospect.

My sister is married to a Scot. He's OK, but HIS brother-in-law is something else: looks like an Andy Capp character and in fact lives on the dole. He was taken for a swim in our neighborhood pool and turned out to have a huge horrible beerbelly and was covered with old-fashioned tattoos. He also has many strong and simpleminded opinions about things. But that's enough about my Scottish connections. Why is it you always get to know your poor relatives, while your millionaire kin and connections are never seen?
