Banks were tightening their lending day by day. Deflation issues won't go away that easily though. Even countries like Brazil and China are experiencing deflation with over-investment in production facilities and growing inventories of unsold goods. Lending based on inflated real estate and other assets continue to make bank assets suspect and weaken banks as they have for several years in Japan. The low price of oil adds to the unexpected absence of inflation. The human is a herd animal and we can expect continued volatility as the flock stampedes from one side of the pasture to the other. Hanging over the scene is the ever impending Y2K problem. GRNO has its long awaited patent, construction permit, and SEC settlement.
