Ann- he was on loan from the army for a period. He retired as a LTC,, a very angry one. He expected the taxpayers to pay his medical bills forever, even unrelated to military duties. He sued (unsuccessfully) his commanders (rumor has it he has used more than 100 lawyers in suits against everything and everyone). He expects something for nothing. He recs a VA pension of approx $2K (untaxed) per month. If my memory serves he is 100% disabled due to mental stress.
