Dave: Who pays $19 for Zip disks? Where you BEEN, man?

"It's diffcult to see how vendors would distribute software using a $19 ZIP disk!!"

The reason no one distributes software on Zip disks is simple: There aren't enough Zip DRIVES out there. Yet.

Just last year I was still receiving software suites on HUGE stacks of 3.5" disks. Believe me, 30 of these things (with lables & handling) cost more than one Zip disk.

Of corse, one CD-ROM costs a lot less. I don't expect to see software distribution on Zip for quite a while, unless it involves some sort of low-volume copy protection scheme.
