Herschel Thanx for the U da Man award. I am definitely not da Man. On the off chance that I am presented the U da Man award this year, I am going to definitely give it to JC for his foresight, vision, willingness to make hard decisions, and for correctly seeing the early "death of distance." At 2500 employees, we must have really strengthend the sales force in keeping with the "fast to market" approach. I think that the key differentiator at this point is the fact that we are out the door with a product while all the others are just talking about it at industry seminars, etc. I'm sure there will be a strong effort made to have customers delay implementation decisions while competitors play catch up. A fully deployed and trained sales force will be the answer. In the meantime, hiring a new VP of worldwide marketing is crucial. Someone who the industry recognizes as a serious player. JC knows this and said it yesterday. Did I mention that JC said that a new tradition is starting at Aspect? Like the Chinese year is referred to as the Year of the Lion, for example, this year will be the Year of the Shareholder at Aspect. I'm already recognizing thinks which I have talked about in the past being fixed so the whole scene looks very good to me. Jim's excited. Employees are buying in to the opportunities and the whole culture seems animated and alive. I'm going to keep buying the dips because even though I have a large position in the stock, it's still a raging buy. And, it (the stock) is getting scarce and scarser. I don't necessarily buy into everything I see from the MMs. Double counting is the norm for one thing ie. if you sell 100 shares it's counted as 200 because someone buys the shares from you. If the short figures are correct, anyone who doesn't cover very soon may be forced to cover at infinity x 10. By the way Herschel, were you there? I'm anticipating GOOD NEWS as a steady diet from now on so the yahoos who are annoying us with their negativity won't be around much longer. Maybe they will wind up on one of those hate sites (which should definitely be taken down by the ISPs) where they can learn to make bombs , identify physicans to be marked for extinction and generally preach fear, loathing, hate and violence in this Country. Private business is much more suited to control this kind of thing than government. Why does AOL leave that site up which advocates killing doctors. Oh they use a couple of weasel words to avoid direct connection, but that's the desired result. The idea that some sites provide complete instructions for bomb making should also be taken off the air. No redeeming social value there. Just another form of ponography even worse than the traditional because it has so much more potential to do harm. Would like to see the internet industry attack these problems and ASPT could make a name for itself by getting out front. Ptetty good sermon and I'm not even a preacher. Maybe I'll go to one of those sites where I can ordain myself and reappear on this site as Preacher John. Incidentally, I've been wondering what the G stands for. The first three initials are definitely mine. John Arthur Pendergast 3, but how does the G fit in? We'll probably never know. What a pity! |
