Should it be this hard for me to dump CITI and use Schwab/CKFR? I am finding that it would be quicker to get a building permit from the District of Columbia government than to become a Schwab/CKFR customer.

August 15 (approximately): I apply on-line for Schwab Access account with CKFR billpay. (I already have eight other Schwab accounts, so it isn't as though they have to check my credit references.)

Sept. 3 (finally): Schwab opens my new Access (checking) account, transferring money from my Schwab One account. I get checks in the mail, along with notice that billpay information will arrive soon.

Sept. 10 Schwab ATM cards arrive. But no PIN number yet, so no way to get cash from Access account. Still waiting for that.

Today (Sept. 13) Receive following e-mail, supposedly from "Schwab Billpay Customer Service" but really from wbptrans@checkfree.com

So now I'm trying to remember, why do I want to dump Citi? Oh yes -- they wanted to charge me $120/year for Quicken downloads. But now they've relented on that, haven't they? So do I REALLY want to switch over to Schwab/CKFR? I guess they will give me another two weeks to think about it. Is this a good idea? Couldn't they move faster?
