FWIW, just read an interesting interview with Ballmer of MSFT.
Remember a-way back when (late '99), when he said nearly all tech stocks were overvalued, including his own, and a bunch of idiots said stuff like, "Ballmer just doesn't get it."
Yeah. Right.
OK, so what does he say now? Basically, that it was a bubble, and it broke. And the future? He had a bullish tone, particularly wrt wireless aps, tablet computers, e-commerce and so forth.
Another wave of innovation IS coming (yea!), but investors will pay more attention to things like balance sheets.
As for his own company, he spoke of things to come in 2002 (which, by implication, gives some insight into 2001, namely, probably no big shakes on the immediate horizon).
Large companies are still incorporating the 'Net into their operations, but the stock frenzy clearly has ended. For the time being.
