High Country Trader... VIX has been going up and so comparisons with previous years are useless in my opinion except if looking at extremes for a range in say 1 trading year or if it is at the lower trendline. The VIX is near the lows at its lower trendline which signifies a low value relative to its near-term highs and is in-line with historical lows (despite being numerically higher from several years back).
