The Social Security shall commence meltdown in.... PrestoPundit ....T minus four years. The rank dishonesty of Democrats, journalists, and lefties in the general public on Social Security has been appalling. A baby boomer born in 1945 was angrily ranting to me the other day about how “Bush and Cheney” had better leave their hands off “her Social Security”, when in fact she’s 10 years beyond the age were reform could even touch her. I managed to refrain from letting her know that that wasn’t “her” Social Security, it was my wallet she was claiming as her welfare entitlement — a welfare entitlement which historically has had little relation to what people have actually paid out to the government in forced taxation. Ignorance and self-deception are required to sustain the angry self-righteousness of lefty boomers who wish to use Social Security as a cover for taking other people money.
