I suspect the suit is a nuisance suit to extract some value
prior to liquidating Imatec, i.e., sue for a billion, and
maybe Apple will buy the patents for a million, which is no
small change for Imatec at this point. And actually, if
the patents have even a smidgen of legitimacy, it would be
worth a million to Apple to further protect ColorSync technology
from erstwhile competitors, especially if the patents cover
their technology, too. Most likely, these are not enforcable
patents, though.
