MU Capex expectations from Dec 17 2002: 5:48 PM In Play Micron reaffirms FY03 capex spending guidance (MU) 13.28 -0.21: -- Update -- On conference call, Micron reiterates capex spending guidance for FY03 (Aug) of $800 mln-1.2 bln.

Aug 28 2002 12:45 PM In Play Micron still expecting stronger second half - Soundview (MU) 17.96 -0.40: Following their bus tour with MU, Soundview commenting that demand for the co in July and August has been uneven, although customers are still buying parts with the expectation of some back-to-school strength and a stronger 2H02; co estimates capex this year to be $900 mln and $1.1 bln in 2003.

Jun 29 2001 9:00 AM In Play Semi Capex Cuts : Lots of talk about capex cuts this morning; Micron (MU) said at its analyst meeting yesterday that 2002 capex would be $1.0 bln, down from $1.8 bln in 2001. And last night, Toshiba - Japan's largest chipmaker - said that capex in the fiscal year ended Mar 02 will be $800 mln, down roughly 30% from its plans of just two months ago. Goldman Sachs says that semi equipment stocks will continue to trade flat to down as investors tire of waiting for fundamentals to recover.

Obviously Capex has been falling for MU. I also agree with everything else you had to say!

We will just have to wait for the market to verify our viewpoints.
