Karen, I think Kerry needs to ignore it. He needs to come up with a plan for jobs and the economy as he has done. And totally ignore Bush as if he does not exist and hence the country needs a new President.

I have never seen an incumbent nervous about his opponent so early on. Doing so is an admission that he has nothing to show for his record. Hence Kerry should seize "Bush's admission of failure" and tell the American people "his plan for success".

The American people are weary of the past, living in fear etc. They long for hope of a brighter future and Kerry needs to exploit that. NOt sure if you watched the clips of the Democratic dinner. Vintage Clinton. Exuberance, confidence, breath of fresh air. And then follows Kerry, determination, can-do attitude, a vision of what not to do etc. etc.
