Why afraid of competition so much? When INTC and CSCO started up, they didn't have competition? In my view, both cable modem and set-top box are at booming stage now, but the revenue figure relative to other semi sector is still minor. Competition at this stage is actually a sign of mess adoption of the technology. Eventually, there will be more players and these players will merge, bought out or die. I'm not saying that BRCM will surely be a winner. But giving its current position, it has better odds than other startups. The gorilla investing strategy is really to buy a basket rather than a single one.
So please continue to post your findings of BRCM's key competitors in the space and track their developments. We will all be appreciated.
