I am not sure if I understand this? Would you elaborate on it a bit more. It is really interesting. Why would this be legal? In other words why/how/could legally an analyst's respective brokerage house short the stock prior to them giving out some negative comments? Isnt this called market manipulation? And I thought SEC was looking over these things like a hawk, ever since the 1929 crash! It sure is interesting that an analyst shorts a stock, then makes some negative comments, the stock goes lower, he buys it back, makes huge profit for his special clients. Then even if company ends up proving that he was wrong, he still ends up being a hero for making an absolute ass out of himself! That guy from ML who made the similar comments on Intel 3 months ago, I bet, has a much much fatter checking account for making a jack ass out of himself than ever before!! And I ask myself, why did I get into Software Engineering, instead?!!!!!!
