"" I have a hard time understanding the value that some of these guys add."" Years ago they were not so well respected. Now days they make a good escape hatch for the brokerage firm if a stock goes wrong and they put all their clients in it. Gee, all the analysts said!!! Also "Our guy says". Salepeople have to have something to tell clients if they want them to buy something. U can't call a client and say the stock has just made a double bottom, or finished a 12 month triangle and will start going up. I guess they are good for rocking the boat among other things.
