Lets take another cut at that example. Currencies are tough for me too. I like the simplicity of that example, but I don't like the math. Lets agree that if the peso goes from 25/$ to 20/$ that's not a devaluation, its an appreciation relative to the dollar. I think your illustration wanted to go the other direction.
