Slack demand, especially for the high-end stuff where Intel enjoys fat margins. Intel has already slashed the price on the PII 333, mere weeks after introducing it. The market appetite for the latest and greatest is not what is was in years past. And of course, the Asia troubles don't help.

The whole PC market is characterized by oversupply and weak demand. Look at all the earnings disappointments: Intel, Compaq, Micron, Motorola, Iomega, Adaptec, Quantum/WDC/Seagate,...
