Howdy Techride Pals - Welcome Tastes Like Chicken (got a question for you - Does It Really? Last time someone told me that I screamed right beside the Arkansas buffet table and threw it when the frogfoot was on it - as all them Good Ole's sure laughed at this poor Yankee) GNET SPLITS GNET SPLITS/Acquires Auction/Plans Integration with Hypermart /Announces Great Earnings Increase OH YEAH GO GNET! (And THANK DOTCOM we weren't tortured today by our pet stock not acting accordingly as though it were some sidewinder otc!!) Up HOW MANY Points??!! LIVE AT TECHSTOCK '99 - Just got back from Neil Young Live Solo Acoustic once again - yep we got more tickets from the mall scalper at the last minute needing to see this one again and glad we did (and guess what, not only was it better seats but last minute 'twas $10 cheaper than I paid Ticketmaster for 'em 3 weeks in advance) - tonite was Neil's birthday, singing Happy Birthday with the crowd was nice (and Happy Birthday to Blue!). Neil sang "Cowgirl In The Sand" "Old Man" and "Cinnamon Girl" tonight but still no "Heart of Gold" a true showman always leave 'em wanting more. Then tomorrow Dick Dale is On and The Question Is Will Dick do a surfboard sacrifice? A) He will if he thinks it's necessary. So daughter's and my "Music Week" (as I said to her gotta give it one a demdar encapsulated names so we don't get spoiled with a habit and look for it all the time now) is halfway through but LIVE from Techstock '99 goes on and on - pals last night was unbelievable!! "Bein' In The Right Place At The Right Time". So there we are eating enchiladas at a tiny little TexMex bar watching our pal's (full-on r&b motown band horns and all) Tuesday club gig and enjoying another magic night! First, his band really rocks and from now on that's where we'll be most Tuesday nights to 909 the enchilada rush and soul energy jolt to last for the week. As we sit there flabbergasted by how great the first set was, our pal says "You ain't seen nothin' yet, look who just walked in to jam with us"....'twas none other but (the real, the only) Terry King formerly of the Drifters and the Temptations and we got to meet him and share a table for awhile!! A Temp!! And still as dynamite as ever, even got better not older just like us Techriders... he did a number about all his kids and grandkids like of course he's not so proud of them he could pop! Terry's the very lead voice of "Disco Inferno" and performed it so incredible to a crowd of under 50 heads in this tiny club giving it his all (as though he was in front of a Techstock '99 stadium-full as I recall he did at a past Rally formerly). And the very next day GNET splits and announces that great earnings increase and Internets Make A Comeback! As of now Fri. Sat. and Sun. is still open - maybe we'll go see a Broadway play or two this weekend to round it off but every day hope to be doing something. Some old penny stock or other buys the tickets....letting my GNET alone to Grow In The Garden! Didn't get to go anywhere for Spring Break :o( because of the dayjob and we wanted a break, so getting the jollies around the homefront from Music Week "Springtime In New York" gives some "Sa-Tis-Faction".
