Buy the rumor and sell the news<g>--SVA is down after getting approval of the clinical trial "Sinovac Bird Flu Vaccine Gets Fast Track 11.22.2005, 11:39 AM Vaccine maker Sinovac Biotech Ltd. said Tuesday that the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration is allowing accelerated development into human trials of the company's bird flu virus vaccine. The regulatory body approved the Beijing-based company's application for human testing within one month given the potential for the bird flu H5N1 virus to become contagious from human to human. So far, people have only caught the virus from sick chickens. Today, the country reported its 20th outbreak of the virus among chickens in a month. This season China has reported one human fatality from the virus and one suspected death. The Chinese FDA closely monitored development of the vaccine in the preclinical studies and will allow Sinovac to conduct human clinical trials in two stages rather than the normal three stages for approval. Human clinical trials are expected to begin in about three months. The company developed a vaccine that was effective against SARS in 2003. " forbes.com
