David - when (if) some time comes around we might try to chance an educated guess at what the RBOCs will expect to be able to charge for ADSL installation and access. I believe you've seen this recent survey showing what they have currently been getting for ISDN:

and I hear that the RBOCs are dropping it since they claim they can't break even at these prices. One is also going to have to consider what an ISP will be charging for net access at these speeds which is on top of these line charges.

Any type xDSL will be using far more bandwidth from their trunks.
