Brumar,
The coming Korean war
I don't think Trump would preemptively strike North Korea. That seems rather reckless, even for him.

The real question is whether Kim Jong-Un is crazy enough to launch a nuke. Unlike his two predecessors, there is reason to believe that self-preservation is not a value that Kim Jong-Un prioritizes. So he may be looking to go down swinging. And unfortunately there is almost no way to prevent massive amounts of casualties given how close Seoul is to the DMZ and how urban and densely packed the area is.

As for China, they have been steadily losing their patience with North Korea. If they did move thousands of troops to the North Korean border, it'll likely be for trying to keep out refugees rather than engaging against American forces. China already has a refugee problem, which the UN cannot acknowledge because of China's veto power.

Finally, there are reports that the people of North Korea are waking up from their brainwashing. Thanks to videos smuggled in via USB drives, most of them know what life is like in South Korea, and they are no longer buying the North Korean narrative. (Which currently is that South Korea is patiently waiting to reunite with their North Korean brothers and sisters, but the evil Americans are preventing that.)

How will this end? Who the F knows? Your guess is as good as mine.
