IBD article ... I also read the IBD article. This, with the numerious Rockwell advertisements advertising their "standard" compliant modems to be avialable within a month have me somewhat confused. I would imagine that Joe Smoe the consumer will be confused as well. Joe will put off buying a new modem until he understands which technology will be the true standard. Until the standards issue is resolved, Rockwell/Lucent/USRX will all be losers. For them to succeed, they will need to jointly agree on a standardization route. Until then, Joe and I will put off buying a 56kbps modem.
