You keep on saying this, and people keep on answering you - though perhaps not as directly as might have helped you get past this issue: I don't think anyone cares about the e-mails on their own terms. The e-mails are just evidence. Period. Evidence of a simple thing: That, as Mr. Duchardt put it more or less, the brokerages were selling out one constituency (retail investors), in favor of another (actual and potential investment banking clients). There may have been other motivations as well, but they're not at the heart of this matter either, I don't think.
