Lots of adjectives but too shallow.
You need to consider this one at the next level down and then one more level down.

The CIA does not reveal the identities of its covert operators to anyone. The only time I have seen it done was Mike Spann and then only after he was killed.

The real question is how did "anyone" outside the CIA find out she was working? How did so many people find out she was working? The Whitehouse staff does not have a need to know and does not have access to covert operator information.

I posted my thoughts a few days ago...I bet she and her husband bragged about it at various cocktail parties. I would bet that Plame outed herself. And I would bet the CIA already knows that.

My guess is the CIA asked DOJ to investigate for two reasons...to distance themselves a bit since Wilson is an Ambassador. Because Ambassadors and their wives work so closely with CIA staff and operators, I doubt the CIA wants to be the agency to investigate them. The second reason is to protect the CIA and other operators.

The reason the issue has made the press so boldly is the Demos have no leadership...they are desperate and are grabbing at everything.

Novak says he got the info from "two senior administration officials". Where did the 2 get it?
Where did TIME get it? They say they got it from "Some government officials". So where did the officials get it?

If I am right and Plume outed herself, does she get to do the 10 years?
