Salah, well on this one we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Amelio didn't do it at Apple on the inbound
Gerstner didn't do it at IBM on the inbound, He was calling shots from RJR while John Akers was still there. (I was there for that one).
There are 1 or 2 others, but I can't think of them right now.

And, yes, you're right Marengi is still there as an INTERIM, a PRESIDENT, a PLACEHOLDER, but NOT as the Chairman of the Board, and CEO. Like I said, we'll have to agree to disagree. As a matter of fact, I would even go one step further and say, even though he doesn't start till 4/7, I would've wanted HIM (Schmidt) to overshadow "every single bit of Brainshare 97'". That's right. I really mean that. His viewpoints, his direction, his everything. I am of the mindset that I don't particulary care about "proper protocol" anymore with this company. That's all window dressing at this point. Everybody is "jockeying for a position there, right now". And you know it.

The way I see it, what's being said now is supposed to be for the benefit of the future of Novell, not for the future of Joe Marengi. I personally don't want to hear about Joe Marengi anymore. He had 2Q's to impress. He didn't. he did .15 when the street wanted .17. That is NO GOOD. I know, I am making that sound like a mantra. It is. Why would I want to hear anymore about what he did for me "yesterday"? I wanna know what Eric is going to do for me now.

Anyway, that's how I see it. As Paul and a couple of other people here said, I just wish he would shut up and let Eric do talking.

Respectfully,

Joe...<this isn't just a hot issue with me. It reeks and permeates itself throughout the press. You can see it very, very clearly. Count the number of times you are hearing the reporters say, well Eric, what's with Joe, and Joe saying well it's up to Eric, and back and forth and back and forth. Gimmie a break already -- not you Salah, the "posturing">

PS: But I respect you Salah, and I know where you're coming from. And I only heard about 15 mins. of the panel QA after with Denice. But as far as what you are saying about that, I certainly won't argue that
(that the co. is on the brink of a turnaround). That's why, I guess I am really disinterested right now, and more interested in 4/7 when we can all see exactly what's going to happen, or not going to happen.
