Cary I am referring to market sentiment only. The market today is selling off based on far too much bullish sentiment.

On a short term basis this can be measured by looking at the put to call ratio which was at the first two readings below 0.50 at .49 today:

cboe.com

In addition short term market sentiment can also be measured by using the TRIN or TRINQ as I have done on these charts:

investorshub.com

I know you are not a short term trader so looking at longer term sentiment indicators may be more useful to you. Page down to the chart provided at this site:

sentimentrader.com

What I want those who read this post to understand is simply that while markets rise when there are too many bulls there are limits. Sooner or later the market must pull back enough to wash out the overly bullish sentiment.
