a few things on the size of the encryption market:

Just wanted to get a few things straight... The encryption market as a whole is large and should continue to grow rapidly over the next few years... However, the market is highly segmented and different types of encryption and different algorithms are used in applications

... DES is the standard for SSL, ECC would probably be used in SET as it is know for its performance.., i think PGP is the reigning champ of the local file and email encryption market... i think maybe RC4&5 fall somewhere in this category too, maybe ecommerce as well... Diffie-Helman is the standard for PKI infrastrature and e-commerce... Then there are the hardware products, which often are dedicated silicon versions of DES, triple DES, and DES 128, fortezza..

Then there is MARS (IBM), Twofish, Blowfish (Schneier), CAST (RSA??) , IDEA, ECC, and a few other well tested algorithms vying for the right to be the successor to DES (the AES or advanced encryption standard)... for use in next gen gov't systems..

Some of these market segments are larger than others... some of these algorithms are better than others.. but all provide adequate security for all but the most highly sensitive applications...

which market is JAWZ going after? desktop file encryption? eCommerce? gov't? How large is this market and how fast is it growing?
