I guess they had to do something for the poor stock performance... Monday August 31, 2:07 pm Eastern Time VTEL Corp to buy back up to 2 mln shrs AUSTIN, Texas, Aug 31 (Reuters) - VTEL Corp. Monday said it set a stock repurchase plan of up to two million shares or nearly 10 percent of its outstanding stock. ''We believe repurchasing the company's stock at this time is a good investment at current prices,'' Rod Bond, VTEL chief financial officer, said in a statement. ''A stock buyback program works in the best interest of the company's shareholders and will provide treasury shares that will fulfill the company's stock requirement for stock issued under its option plans and for other general corporate financial needs,'' he added.
