RE: Open source movement There are many documents on the 'net about this, but you might check out "The Practical Manager's Guide to Linux" at li.org - has a good history of Linux, it's strengths and weaknesses, and a bit about what "Open Source" and the GPL mean. One of the main strengths of Open Source is that because all of the source code is available and can be freely modified, it often leads to extremely robust software. Think of it as "peer review" for programmers.
