How the average investor is still not invested in Energy As an investment adviser I was shocked when today I signed up a married retired couple with a porfolio value of almost 2 million. The accounts were held at Wells Fargo and A.G. Edwards/Wachovia. Suffice is to say that their entire energy porfolio was only 1.5 % and their previous brokers had them invested over 10% in Real Estate REITs If this is any indication of how far we still have to go in this sector, imagine how many retirees have so little invested in the energy sector so far and how this is about to change. On Monday.. actual T + 3, I will increase their energy exposure in their portolios.
