Ignoring so many things for so many years didn't seem to work well. Who knows, maybe eventually, ignoring them again, will work. Saying the terrorist threat we face today is not a “serious challenge to the survival of the American republic” doesn’t mean you don’t support doing something about it. Having a different opinion about how to face this problem doesn’t mean you are for ignoring it. Do you really think a single nuke could destroy the American republic? I realize that it would be horrible but do you think so little of the millions of American people that survive the attack that you think they are going to roll over and let the US be conquered by a few hundred or even a few thousand terrorists? A hyped overblown view of the threat seems to be more of threat to our republic then the real threat to American lives.
