why hasn't a big major gold company bought them out,

Companies usually buy into other companies using stock.
How many deals have we seen lately with one company buying another using shares that are grossly overinflated due to the tremendous bull run we've been on?

This has not been the case with the gold stocks. The fact that they are in a terrible bear market and their stock is at multi-year lows could be the simplest explanation for a lack of a MAJOR sniffing about.
