The real question here is if the volume was a result of put buying or put selling or if this was a massive play on some options market makers part to stay delta or gamma neutral.

I am wondering if the market maker is short or long the puts. Alternately, the market maker may be net neutral (as they should be) but some big boys are playing a complex game.
