Ah, San Francisco in 1970!!! What an exciting place that was. I was going to college at U.C. Davis, and we would drive down often on the weekends to hear the free concerts in the park and just to hang out and eat the wonderful sourdough French bread. Although it is now available pretty much wherever there are serious boutique bakeries, San Francisco was the only place you could get it in 1970.

What were your impressions of San Francisco?
