Somebody emailed me and said the price had doubled this morning.

Here's why.

IRS ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING CONTRACT

Washington, DC, June 1, 1998, US Gov't Printing Office. The Internal Revenue Service announced this morning that it has signed a milestone contract with FBN Associates ("FBN") for Year 2000 remediation services. Commonly known as the Y2KK, the contract calls for FBN to provide Y2K remediation services to the IRS through the end of the 21st Century, by which time the IRS hopes it will have completed its response to the "Clinton bed-partner subpoenas" issued by Special Prosecutor Starr in 1998.

Financial details of the Y2KK were not released, as they are deemed immaterial to FBN's financial conditions, results of operation or both. FBN has promised that a plethora of information regarding the Y2KK will be available on FBN's website "very soon".

In a related announcement, the IRS confirmed rumors that it had strong-armed the SEC into dropping its post-manipulation probe against several FBN insiders. "We need these people for the Y2KK and we can't have the SEC poking around and distracting them from their duties," a well-informed IRS source stated.

FBN CEO TEDennis was unavailable for comment as he is on his way to Milwaukee, WI for the annual Harley-Davidson bash.
