Russert may be a Democrat but IMO he is about as centrist as anyone there is on the major Sunday shows, including cable. I recall well that he was pretty tough on the Clintonites and seems quite comfortable with asking penetrating, even embarrassing, questions of those on both sides of the aisle.

I respect Russert and generally watch his show when I can. The MSM needs more like him.

P.S. I also respect and enjoy Brit Hume although he is at least a few degrees right of center.
