I would wager that germ warfare, nuclear devices or water supply contamination have become terrorist tactics that US citizens would now concede as thoroughly possible if not probable. Mealy mouthed, touchy feely platitudes are idealistic but they don't eliminate the possibility of death to hundreds of thousands. Terrorists worldwide must be gathered up and rendered harmless. This takes a worldwide effort and the politics are ready for this NOW. The US can lead (as usual) and the world will fall in line (vis a vis NATO). eg: bin laden...if the Taliban won't surrender this terrorist then they are complicit in terrorist Acts of War. They are now fair game for any and all repercussions. Other countries harbouring terrorists or supporting terrorists...ditto. The world now knows the possibility of an entire city being eradicated by terrorists is now a very real and present danger. They know they either support a worldwide terrorist roundup or risk an uncontrolled plunge into a world war. The window of opportunity is now.
