Kevin, this is really a minor squabble. But the point is it's much too easy to write-off people because of some very arbitrary criteria. The amateur in question makes a living polishing floors -- so what. He comes home every day with a net profit, and that is more than any professional stock trader can say. Besides, how many people on this supposedly expert thread of ours are professional traders? Certainly not I.

As for having heard of Intel, some people would call you and me idiots for not knowing all the board members' names of companies we own. All such criteria are arbitrary. You and I can spout off a few phrases about Intel Corp, maybe name its president and its major products -- does that put us any closer to making a killing in the stock? Does it make us any more qualified to comment on it? I think not. Let he who is without ignorance cast the first stone.

Don't lose sight of our theme song: BWDIK.
