KKD was way overextended in June, a drop from there was well justified, pull up a longer term chart on KKD and you'll see that it make these type of spikes quite often and then it bases for a while but it has gradually trended higher over time and shorting it pulling back to a rising 50dma has seldom been a profitable trade...it certainly could work here, i'm just saying that there are probably better candidates out there to short than KKD

why do you see two splits as a negative? most of the best performing stocks over time have had regular splits, otherwise their prices would be in the 1000's of dollars a share like BRK.b ...certainly i'd rather own a stock that is continually able to split its shares due to price appreciation than one which never has that opportunity

one last thing, while it has nothing to do with the chart, krispy kreme donuts are yummy :) just kidding sort of, but there is one by us and it is busy all the time, including the teenybopper crowd that these types of places crave as customers...perhaps here and there it's a short, but as long as they can continue to open successful locations and they continue to raise guidance and beat their numbers, this one is going to just keep disappointing the shorts...IMHO
