Wrong, it's good marketing for MS. Bill doesn't want any competition.

Now this article might not be good for Corel due to the fact that MS is admitting the market is saturated by their product.

As Microsoft (MSFT) honchos prepare to brief financial analysts tomorrow, the company is figuring out how to prepare for a predicted "dry spell" in its new fiscal year.
"The basic premise of slowing growth in the next year is desktop saturation," said Microsoft senior financial manager Vaughan Briggs. "When you have roughly 90 percent market share, it's hard to find room for significant growth."
The division that sells the Office 97 application suite reported a 21 percent jump in 1997 revenues for the quarter ending June 30. But the division's revenue growth slowed compared to previous years, a fact that incoming CFO Greg Maffei will likely point to in tomorrow's meeting as a warning that Microsoft has saturated the market with its core products.
