RE: Marengi and Marketing

Joe&Janice&Dwight and all, I'm not sure that Novl's hapless marketing has been the main problem of novl..The main problem up to this point has been Novl's resting on its laurels while people like MSFT chew into their market share.....In other words, what good is marketing if you're marketing something people are starting to think is obsolete in view of NT...Finally Novl's got something with "Ware", it's also got some good key partnerships, grabbed a few awards beating out nt and lotus and netscape will finally get rid of the "no internet" complaints of novl...

In this environment, Marengi has "something" to market, imo...I think it may be a mistake to let Marengi's marketing muscle leave Novl..at the very least give the guy a chance...after all, he's got the marketing reputation, he's well known, and he does have the ability to keep Novl in the limelight..

Marengi wasn't/isn't CEO material yes we all know that,...He also isn't a Tech guy like Schmidt is....HE's a Marketer and Salesman...That's all...Until recently he's had nothing really to market and sell, imo...
