SQL server comes from close to zero market share to nearly 40% of NT installations. Where in the world do you think that market came from. Sybase and Informix have lost most of thier non-die hard, generic business to IBM and Oracle already. That is why ORCL's revenues are starting to flatten, teh marekt is maturing. ORCL execs are on record in the Wall Street Journal stating that SQL is eating into thier low end bread and butter. The sales force has been told to match SQL pricing whenever possible with the ORCL 7 product. historicaly it was much more expensive. Maybe you should slow the sound bites down.
