I would think a big draw down of the military, some cuts in other areas combined with greater efficiency, at the very least letting the Bush tax cuts expire would be the will of most Americans... We were at near perfection when Clinton left office so why not just go back line by line to what percentages expenses were back then to GDP? Of course if we don't start creating 250-300k jobs a month all hell will break lose no matter who wins in 2012.
